The Light Has Come

The Light Has Come (pt. 3)

THE LIGHT HAS COME (PT. 3)

The True Light has come to bring new life. Pastor Trent reflects on the key phrases in verses 9-13 of this introduction about the incarnation: the true light, the world, receiving him, and what it means to be born of God.

THE LIGHT HAS COME

The pandemic has made our hearts ache, like few other experiences, for light and life. “When will things return to normal?” became our repeated refrain. Yet, the Gospel of John reveals that God’s light does not make things normal. It makes them new. Darkness may surround us in way analogous to God’s people wandering through the wilderness, but the LORD was leading them somewhere. This Christmas, we remember the LORD is leading us too. The light has come.

The Light Has Come (pt. 2)

THE LIGHT HAS COME (PT. 2)

The incarnation brings new revelation as it unfolds and interprets God's very heart. Pastor Trent encourages us this Christmas to be thankful for the witness of John the Baptist. He was powerfully used by God to reveal the Light of the World. "He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light." John's witness calls for our witness.

When it comes to Christmas, normal just won’t do. The light has come to make everything new. Pastor Trent teaches the introduction of John's Gospel and reflects on the themes of light, life, and creation.
